Sporting Goods Assembly, Anchored to Stay Put
Putting together the equipment for a fun backyard is not itself fun. The Renaissance Handyman assembles soccer goals, swing sets, basketball courts, sandboxes, slides and playgrounds, and anchors each one so it stays where it was set up.

Anchoring is the whole job
Swing sets, soccer goals and basketball standards are tipping hazards right up until the moment they are anchored. A basketball standard can go over from someone hanging on the rim, and a swing set or soccer goal can be pulled down the same way, so anchoring is not a finishing touch, it is the point of the assembly.
Ground type decides the method: a stake or auger anchor works differently in packed soil, sand or a hard surface, and we pick the method that actually holds for the ground the equipment is going on.

Site and setback
Playgrounds, slides and sandboxes need clearance the same way a swing set does: room to move relative to a fence line, a tree, or a patio or driveway edge, so the equipment is not set up somewhere it will get outgrown or bumped into on day one.
We walk that layout before assembly starts, not after the boxes are already open on the lawn.
Hardware torque and the seasonal re-check
Bolted joints on outdoor equipment loosen with weather cycling and a summer of real use, the same way any outdoor hardware does on the shoreline. Chain links, swing hangers and fasteners are worth checking again once the equipment has had a season on it.
